St Francis Catholic Primary School Tannum Sands welcomes New Principal

St Francis Catholic Primary School, Tannum Sands has rolled out the welcome mat this year for their new Principal, Mrs Samamtha Suthers.
Mrs Suthers has been with Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton for 18 years, with 10 of those in leadership positions and the past four years as Principal of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Blackall.
“I am excited to be joining the experienced staff at St Francis Catholic Primary School and am very much looking forward to working together with the whole school community – staff, students and families - to build upon the school's strong foundations,” Mrs Suthers said.
Mrs Suthers said during her 18 years in education she has had the opportunity to explore, develop and ensure that her focus was on a dedication to high-quality teaching and student-centered approaches to ensure meaningful opportunities for staff, students and families.
“My goal in education has always been to ensure that every student is given the best possible
learning experience, guided by our Catholic values,” Mrs Suthers said.
She said one of the main reasons for applying for the principalship at St Francis was the strong culture of care and community characterised by authentic relationships.
“I love the 'small community' feel at St Francis and within the Tannum wider community where everyone knows and cares about each other. St Francis is so spacious and located in such a beautiful environment, surrounded by bushland and just minutes from the beach,” Mrs Suthers said.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve in such a beautiful school and I am excited about the years ahead,” Mrs Suthers said.
