Joint Pathways Forum
Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton (CEDR) joined forces to deliver the 2024 VET (Vocational Education and Training) in Schools Pathways Forum in Rockhampton recently.
With attendees from state, Catholic and independent sectors, the forum showcased a range of emerging career paths from drone technology to cybersecurity.
Presentations focused on the diverse opportunities available through VET and the importance of partnerships between stakeholders including education providers, government and industry.
This year’s event marked the first time the forum was hosted as a partnership and held in regional Queensland, highlighting a commitment to expanding educational opportunities across the state.
Under the theme “VET – The future is full of Queensland-wide possibilities!” the forum brought together VET practitioners, school leaders, industry partners and policymakers to discuss the latest developments and best practices in vocational education and training in schools.
The forum drew more than 60 in-person attendees at CEDR’s Kevin Castles Centre in Rockhampton with an additional 30 participants joining online.
